My first adult art class was in a VEC night class in Stillorgan at the age of 32. There I was taught by the first woman to represent Ireland in Mastermind, Beatrice Simms. In retrospect she was a brilliant teacher who taught me the basic techniques of oil painting.

I did not take my painting seriously until almost 30 years later when attending a meeting in Whitefriar Street community centre I noticed an ad for art classes. That was about 10 years ago and I have not stopped since. With excellent tuition and encouragement I progressed fairly rapidly and three years ago had a mini-exhibition in the Oxfam shop in Rathmines where to my surprise I sold 13 Irish landscapes, mainly paintings of photos I took in Connemara around the Renvyle peninsula. 

I have set up this website with the hope of reaching a wider audience.
